Why most sales training gets forgotten
Ashif: Most AI sales training is a video course your reps click through once, then forget. Real AI sales training is practice against a buyer who fights back. Let me show you what that looks like end to end in one session.
Here's why most sales training doesn't stick. Reps watch a course, pass a quiz, then get thrown into a real call where a buyer interrupts, objects, goes quiet. None of which a quiz prepares them for.
Build a role-play from a company URL
So, let's build actual sales training in 2 minutes. First, we'll need to create a new role-play. So, up here, add role-play, we'll press continue, and we'll insert a link to our product that we're trying to sell. So, for now, PitchMonster.
Then, all we do is press generate. Now, the AI is looking into your link, analyzing what you're trying to sell, then use that data to create an AI persona for us to practice against. We can do all this manually, but the AI did it for us, and let's give a quick glance to see if everything is as we like.
Let's see if it's all accurate. Everything's good here. Everything's good on step two, so all we want to do is make sure our difficulty is how we like it.
Set difficulty, scenario and goal
I'll put it as insane. Then, the next part is super important. We need to create a scenario. Thankfully, the AI did it for us, but here we can modify it further. I'll have a quick look.
Everything here looks good, but I do want to change the last step to say my goal is to get the client to book a demo. We'll be graded on this. For now, let's keep looking.
Configure the scorecard and knowledge base
The objections look good, and now we have to do the scorecard. This is where we set our goal and everything we want to be graded against, like a report card. So, we're going to have to set a goal, which is get the client to book a demo.
And if you're doing something like training insurance sales reps, well, you can attach your entire knowledge base here. So, I actually have that here for a different video. This is a made-up insurance company with a lot of info. And I attached it, and the AI was able to scan through those hundreds of pages and make sure that your sales rep in training sticks to your actual policies. It's really cool. I'll link the video up here.
For now, let's keep going. Down here, we should add more things to be graded against.
And just like that, once everything is set, all you have to do is press save, and you can send this over to your sales rep so they can get training.
Invite your reps
Next up, you have to invite your user. So, I'm going to invite myself. And this is where you would put in your email for every rep that you want to put through this training session.
And just like that, we're ready to switch over to what your sales rep in training will see.
What the rep sees
Okay, so this is your reps' dashboard. Every single role-play scenario you sent them will show up here. All they have to do is click on any of these role-plays and press practice, and they've jumped into the call.
Live role-play with the AI buyer
Michael (AI buyer): Hey, this is Michael. Remind me who you're with again and what you do.
Ashif: Hey, Michael. I'm Ashif with PitchMonster. We have an awesome AI coach program.
Michael: Okay, Ashif. What made you reach out now? Is there something specific you think we're missing?
Ashif: Yeah, I know that you guys are using Gong and Salesforce to track how your sales reps interact with customers. Well, wouldn't it be better if you could take that info that you've already collected on how your reps behave and put them through additional training without having to sacrifice real customers?
Michael: I get the idea, but we do have Gong already and it does a lot for us. Not sure if adding another layer will really help or just complicate things. Our managers are pretty slammed as it is.
Ashif: I get that and that's exactly what PitchMonster can help solve. Your managers are slammed because they have to go through all these Gong recordings individually per each employee, then meet with the employee, every single one of them to give them feedback. Well, why not just put your Gong links, these recordings, into PitchMonster, let the AI handle creating an AI persona that your reps can practice against. Gong already gave the information on what real customers will push back with, so now it's time to practice against an AI that behaves like a real person.
Michael: That sounds interesting, but I'm still worried about adoption. My managers don't have time for extra tools that add more work. If it's not simple and quick, they won't use it. We're already juggling a lot.
Michael: Yeah, I see the value in that, but I'd want to know if this can really shorten our ramp time noticeably. Also, how do you handle the fact that our product and messaging change often? I don't want reps practicing outdated pitches.
Ashif: All you have to do is take that PDF file, put it into PitchMonster, and boom, it's filled with all of your information. The AI will make sure your reps are saying the updated things.
Michael: All right, that sounds manageable. I guess my last big concern is how this fits with our current tools and workflows. We don't want something that feels like just another dashboard to check. Integration matters.
Ashif: Absolutely. So, we have Gong and Salesforce integration. Both of those services record your real interactions with actual customers. So, you already have all this bountiful data. You might as well put it to good use. That's our level of integration. Now, we can also, when you're setting up any of these scenarios, link in a site, as I mentioned, attach a PDF, or any sort of thing. It's extremely easy to integrate.
Michael: Okay, that helps. I'd want to get Sarah and Leo involved to see how this fits with enablement and RevOps. And Priya will want to know the budget impact. So, if we can get something that shows clear value for all three, I'm open to a next step.
Michael: All right, Ashif. Let's set that up. Send me some options for the demo times, and I'll loop in Sarah and Leo to join. If Priya sees the value, we can move forward. Looking forward to seeing what PitchMonster can do.
Ashif: Awesome. I have your email, and I just sent the link. Did you get it?
Michael: Yeah, I got it. I'll check with Sarah and Leo, and get back to you with a time that works for all of us. Thanks.
Ashif: Awesome. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Michael: Sure thing. Talk soon.
Scorecard breakdown
Ashif: The call ends and this is where real training happens. We're going to skip the coach so you can see our score. For me, I got 60 out of 100. Not bad, but I was aiming for an 80. So, let's scroll down to see what went wrong. We can see all this in our scorecard.
I didn't set the agenda. In our scorecard earlier, that was one of the expectations. We want to make sure our customer knows what we're about to discuss, which I did not do.
Now, let's keep going. We can see that we did not "finalize selling service." So, I thought that just getting the customer to say, "Hey, we'll take a look." That's great. But, as we can see, I should have pushed for an exact date or given some options and ultimately, that's why I lost some points. You never know if a customer will return if they tell you, "Yeah, I'll be back." We've all heard that one.
Pace, filler words and monologue insights
But, now let's keep moving on. We got insights. So, here we're graded on things like pace. Spoke fast, not bad. Filler word usage, I've had less, you know, filler words before, so it says strong, but I could have done better. And I just kept speaking with a long monologue and I didn't ask many questions. These are my insights and we can keep going.
AI Coach feedback
There's a transcript. We can get comments from our team or, here's one of my favorites, we can talk to the AI Coach. Let's take a look now.
AI Coach: Hey, thanks for the recording. I'd love to cover a few points. Are you ready to start?
Ashif: Let's do it.
AI Coach: Ashif, how do you think that call went? What went well? You stayed in the conversation and kept answering the buyer's concerns without getting rattled. A good example was when Michael said, "My managers don't have time for extra tools." And you came back with a simple setup explanation and tied it to reducing manager workload.
AI Coach: What's the one thing you'll do differently on your next call?
Ashif: I think I should really set up that intro better. Set the stage on what's about to be discussed.
AI Coach: Exactly. That's the biggest fix. On this call, because you didn't frame it early, Michael took control immediately with, "Remind me who you're with again, and what you do." And then started testing you with objections. You were pitching from behind the whole time. Next time, use a 15-second opener like, "Michael, this is Ashif with PitchMonster. I reached out because teams using Gong often have plenty of call data, but not enough rep practice. I wanted to take 2 minutes to learn how you're coaching today, share what we do, and if it's relevant, we can talk next steps."
AI Coach: Why that works? It tells them why you called. It sets a simple agenda. It gives you permission to ask questions before pitching. Then, go straight into discovery. "How are your managers handling rep coaching today?" Or, "What's hardest right now about turning call data into better rep performance?" Keep that. You already did a good job handling objections once you were in the conversation. If you add a stronger opening, the rest of the call gets much easier.
Rolling it out to a team
Ashif: The AI Coach doesn't lecture. It tells you exactly where you went wrong and how you can fix it. Your training sales rep takes in all of these tips from the AI Coach, thinks about it themselves, answers back with the coach, then once they're ready, they can press record again.
And it all scales. As the manager, I don't have to sit through 60 call recordings to see who's doing what. All I have to do is click on any of these scenarios, and I see exactly who did well, who still needs practice, and who needs to have that special attention to make sure they're up to par.
Book a demo
That's AI sales training that actually changes the next call. Not a course your reps will forget. The tool is PitchMonster, and you can try it for free. Link's in description. Open it up, paste in your prospect's URL, run a session, and see where your reps really stand. If you want more demos like this, subscribe. I'm Ashif. See you on the next one.
